CVT technology explained
Some of us do not know how our Freed CVT tech (Japan model) works, Honda Japan has a good web site to explain. Just to share..

Re: CVT technology explained
My personal experience on feeling the difference between CVT and AT
CVT=really smooth transmission.
(no jerks when changing gears)
From station position to drive, even without pressing brake, you won't feel any jerks.
AT=not really having smooth transmission.
you would feel a slight jerks when changing gears
From station postion to drive, you MUST press brake deeply, or else you can feel the jerks

bro nickf601,
so yours is AT Freed from KM?
if yes, you can follow these old traditional method to "reduce" the jerks on changing gears with AT transmission
1. Station position to drive, you MUST press brake as deep as possible!!! no other solution than doing this method (prepare your feet with strong exercise)
2. While driving/cruising, be lite on your foot, try to avoid on pressing the gas, as it will only increase the jerk effects when changing gears.
i'm also driving AT in Jakarta (not Freed), so the above findings are based on my own experience on having 2 different transmissions.

Bro sevenseater,
I am driving Jap spec Freed bought from PI. May be other bro bought from kah motor and can provide some feedback on 5AT system (assembled in indo).
I understand your feeling because I drove 4AT before.
